I've bought a second hand digital bartech with focus and Iris slider included.

with two Digital Heden Motors M26VE.

I'm using finally it and I've noticed a problem.

some time everything stop to work

like is loosing the signal...

even during the shoot...

I've founded that mooving the stop slider start to connect the signal and it

works again

of course it's useless during the shoot to move the stop to have again the connection.

I've even changed the chaines but still have the same troubles.

any of you have noticed it any tips about it?

in case of not I'll just ship it to Bartech

Hey Ariel,

You could be having a calibration issue.

I had mine misbehaving and solved it by doing this:

3. Calibration
3.1. To calibrate the BarTech Iris Slider and Focus knob make sure that all of the switches are in the down position on the BarTech Handset. I.e. Power is OFF, Motor Direction is in REV, Camera is in CON, and Camera Run/Stop is in STOP.
3.2. Switch on the Power switch.
3.3. Now switch up all of the other switches. When this is completed both the Power and Camera Run/Stop LED’s should start rapidly flashing.
3.4. Slide the BarTech Iris Slider all the way from one end to the other a few times.
3.5. Rotate the Focus knob all the way from one end to the other a few times.
3.6. Move all of the switches but the Power switch into the down position. The Power and Camera Run/Stop LED’s will stop rapidly flashing which indicates that the calibration is complete.
If this doesn't work, you should contact PLC as when you do the iris slider upgrade, most of the electronics, even in your handset, are from PLC.
Good luck!

Hi everyone,

After a few days of successful use, I'm now having communication trouble between my Bartech digital V2-1 receiver and Bartech handset. Solid red Rx light, indicating no communication.

I've tries both factory reset and soft rest and still no communication.

Any advice would be helpful. I have a message into Jim Bartell on the issue as well.

Thanks,

Drew

Update: the problem was NOT my PLC V2-1 digital receiver. It was a faulty radio module within my new digital Bartech transmitter. Replaced by Jim, it's now working perfectly.

My unit was the second case among two or three others, a new issue that resides in the radio modules Jim has recently started using in his handsets His description of the other cases matched my own: the transmitter works for a short time (an hour in my case) then stops transmitting signal.

Quick fix, Jim's customer service is impeccable, PLC Electronics has also been great.
