Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted July 30, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 30, 2014 This post has been a long-time coming, but I'm finally getting around to it. For anyone who uses cameras with LANC control with a digital Bartech system, you can use the C300 start/stop assembly to trigger the camera. I'm not sure exactly which cameras are compatible and which are not, but I've tested it with BlackMagic Cameras, and it works great. It doesn't just send a start/stop trigger. It has a microcontroller built in that continually checks the record status of the camera. It also has a little tally light on the assembly to confirm that the camera is rolling. Having said that, I would like to see the Bartech with other LANC functionality (maybe Iris control). It also pulls 5V directly from the LANC port on the camera, so it doesn't require external power like a RED start/stop cable does (I know all about that). This is a great little cable for any digital Bartech owner, and I'm hoping more people realize that it exists and not just for C300.
