Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted September 7, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 7, 2014 Does it work with the MDR3???
Premium Members chris bangma Posted September 7, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 7, 2014 Yes, it will work with the MDR2 and MDR3. It communicates directly with the MDR, so you just need a cable, and do not need an adapter box.
Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted September 7, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 7, 2014 Which cable is in the Pre Order option? MDR3 and mdr2 use different connectors.

Premium Members Kar Wai Ng Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 Interested to know how well it works on heavily hazed sets; this is one of those scenarios where I have seen cinetapes (ultrasonic) perform better than snipers (infrared). But a very attractive price point and MDR communication is the clincher here.
Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 So is the Preston cable in the Pre Order for the mdr3?
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 This looks very cool. Was trying to think of why I haven't seen a Cinetape or similar on set for a while, then I realized...every AC I work with pulls off the monitor.
Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 Exactly, every film assistant pulls off a monitor because a tough Steadicam shot used to be a 50 mm at T2. Now we asked to pull 100 mm at T1.3. No one would have every wasted 35mm film on that!
Premium Members chris bangma Posted September 8, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 So is the Preston cable in the Pre Order for the mdr3? For mdr2 or 3, just specify which one you want.

Funny, every set I have been on has Cinetape, sniper, or both. All with "A list" first AC's
