Premium Members Michael Desiderio Posted August 23, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 23, 2014 Any reason this couldnt be done, barring the possibility of batteries having an input protection diode? Talking about lengths of only a few inches so I tend to think that current would not be an issue at only a few amps tops
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted August 23, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 23, 2014 You might have problems if the batteries aren't close in voltage. They might try to charge each other.
Premium Members Michael Desiderio Posted August 24, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted August 24, 2014 I was planning on only using 100% charged batteries of same age and brand
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted August 25, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 Michael If you can keep up the same batts and all 100% charged etc. that's great but just normal details. 1) batteries don't age the same and you can have the same age etc and still have one that has cells that go bad at different rates. 2) normal shooting frenzy will invariably throw an odd different battery in the mix and could cause you problems 3) how much energy and attention are you going to spend making sure all this stuff gets done when it distracts you from your real job of shooting? I've certainly got perspective on lots of things and I see how I spent lots of energy on stuff that was a distraction and not where I should have been spending that time and energy. Use it however make sense. Good luck and try everything. Janice
Premium Members Thomas English Posted August 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 I think it isn't a problem with V-Locks putting unprotected batteries in parallel but I heard AB batteries do have issues with back charging hence why PRO now have a diode on the AB plate. Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted August 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 Would back charging still be an issue with a diode in the A/B plate?
