Sam Morgan Moore
To go with my other thread about using the BMC4k on a Pilot - well we canned that idea as it was too slow to unbuild the A camera for the odd steadi shot. So we blagged a Gh4 - I was excited that it had composite out for the Pilot monitor.. But AFAIK the comp out only works during clip replay and is therefore useless. so.. 1) be warned 2) Id love to be corrected.
Premium Members Jonathan Pfundstein Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 Be warned for what? Like most of the GH3/4 Camera's monitoring has always been done via hdmi, so you could use a hdmi to sd converter or just use an hdmi monitor. Premium Members Frank Born Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 Lightweight HDMI to Composite converter is about 20$ and electrically fed by the GH4 HDMI output. Have the setup on my Pilot.

Premium Members Frank Born Posted September 8, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2014 This should do the trick, these boxes are sold under many different brand names: http://www.amazon.com/Composite-Converter-Blue-ray-White-1080P/dp/B009CL8NH0 The newer ones (sold since this year) get along with just power over HDMI. No 5v battery required. But draws a lot from the cams internal battery. Cheers, Frank
