Back Mounted vests

To my steadicam brethren,

For those of you who purchased a back mounted vest I was wondering how you went about choosing wether the vest was right for you or not. I know Ozzie from Miami rented a Klassen vest for a period of time before he decided to buy one. I know that others went to Klassens shop and tried a few. It seems to expensive a piece of equipment to purchase on blind faith and word of mouth. Just curious to see what the process was in choosing the vest. Any info as always is appreciated. Sincerely Claus

Claus,

How are you? On my way to work, but call me in a couple of days and we can talk. Trust me, take that leap of faith because it is worth it and ultimately better for your body to get the weight on the hips. This is best achieved by a trip to the shop to be measured AND so you can see all the options in person and work out what is best for you. Walter and CO are just an amazing bunch.

Hope all is well. Let's talk.

I always thought of the extra $$ as preventive maintenance. Even if it's only slightly better on my body, I want it! All I want is to be virticle when I'm retired. Plus their customer service is amazing.

I wish I had the time to go to the shop, but never had the opportunity (plus I always knew Jenn would get me into trouble while bar-hopping). I've met up with them at CineGear and Showbiz Expo to try stuff, and/or pick up my harness so Walter could help adjust the foam and fine tune it in person. I've recently upgraded to a new one that's even mor comfortable than the last (#45 which I've had since 2000).
