JamesTSandoval
Hey all, I've been seeing a lot of wireless follow focus units coming out and already in existence. I personally use a Preston FiZ or Chrosziel Magnum (Owned by Evidence Camera Rentals in Echo park) but have been wanting my own unit for my personal shoots. I don't have the budget to get my own FiZ or anything fancy but I would like to spend maybe a few grand on something that is somewhat reliable. I really only need one motor at this point for low end stuff, but the option for more couldn't hurt, and definitely would like something that can worth well with other brand motors if need be. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thoughts? Thank you for your responses! - James

Mark Baluk
Ok thanks. For a moment, I thought I may have missed a new receiver announcement or something from Bartech.

Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted September 21, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 21, 2014 Have had BFD only for as long as they have been out. Always two systems, a Focus hand unit and an Iris slider to hand to the DP or the DIT. Havent gone to the Digital because I would not be able to control it myself with a knob on the gimbal for the live shoots I do, although in the last year I have convinced every live show so far to hire one of the Safety/Focus pullers I use. So maybe it's time for the Digital uprade.
Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted November 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 25, 2014 digital bfd is great, but just to give the thread a little flavor, i say the single channel cmotion is worth a try. though not expandable, they have other expandable options. Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted November 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 25, 2014 Ive had a chance to use the RT motion system and it's pretty much awesome. I've owned 3 prestons and love them but if I were starting again today, I'd by an RT.
Kyriacos C. Mosfiliotis
what about Axis1 or Heden Carat?
Premium Members Justin Besser Posted November 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 25, 2014 Heden carat is a fantastic simple system .. Wish it had a different battery system as the batteries die quite fast (9v) but buy a set of rechargeables and your golden
