Fabian Meller
Hey there! I have a few questions regarding the cinematic precisions alexa plate. Does anyone use it with the Betz tools topstage? Will if fit properly? And is there any kind of safety screws so that it wont slide thru unnoticed? Also will it work with a standard broadcast camera with a v-lock tripod adapter? And one more thing can one mount 15mm rods to the plate directly? I would appreciate your help and experience! Premium Members Jarrett P. Morgan Posted October 1, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 1, 2014 I have not used it on the betz top stage, so I can't comment on that, but to the other questions: Yes, it will work with broadcast cameras. I am using it also with a F55 that has the VCT-14 style mount on it. It also has the holes tapped on the front for the iris rods to attach. I don't think it has any of the stops as it has the machined out part on the side for the pro set-screw. I bought mine from Jerry Hill
Premium Members Shawn Wang Posted October 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 2, 2014 does it work without BPA-1? or you have to order it together from Jerry hill ?
Premium Members Jarrett P. Morgan Posted October 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 2, 2014 I own a BPA-1, but I have seen guys just use long 3/16 screws to secure it straight to the Alexa body. I haven't played with that option myself yet.
Premium Members Matthias Biber Posted October 4, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 4, 2014 It is thinner than the betz tools plate. So the camera collides with the release lever on the topstage.
