It was only a matter of time since Vitec took over that these kinds of manufacturing decisions would be made. It's a shame; made in the USA is a big seeking point to me and worth the extra expense, but people with that view are becoming the exception. If they want to be competitive with the other companies mentioned in this thread, they have to outsource too.

Guys,

I understand the concern about the batteries being made in Mexico, but we are not losing one body here on our Production Floor. The chargers and Medical batteries/chargers are all being made here and I am happy to invite anyone who wants to come and tour our factory here. We will also be taking on some of the manufacturing of the Litepanels lights here in Shelton.

Regards,

Paul

Hey Alec, I'm not sure I haven't tried them on standard AB chargers, they are sold with two channel fast chargers which work really well, I use two at a time.

Probably worth emailing optical support to check on charger compatibility.

The build quality of the batteries and chargers is superb, the run time is incredible compared to standard dionic 90's, I can't imagine using anything else now I've owned these, superb bits of kit.

Hi James,

I checked out the Impact batteries and they look almost exactly like a DIONIC HCX, which is the 124wh version of the DIONIC HC. The cost of the Impact batteries seems high at over $600USD (395 British Pounds) when the HCX has a list price at USD$500.00.

Do you know which cells are being used in these batteries? or where they are manufactured?

Regards,

Paul
