Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted October 30, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 30, 2014 i was going to mention steve fracol as well, though i wasnt a hundred per cent sure, but robert confirmed what i thought to be the case. while i dont know steve very well, ive met and spoken with him on a few ocassions and hes just an all around good dude and i only hear good words about him. so if its an option, consider reaching out to him. you can find his information on his website. also, continue to get other gigs as you fund your goals. i still do a lot of what i consider a previous life in order to throw cash at my full time camera operating life. i started buying up smaller gear like monitors, batteries, and tools. at a certain point though, i had a rig before outfitting with much steadicam related gear, like wireless and follow focus. did a lot of begging and borrowing of accessories. i continue to trade, loan, and borrow with other operators. but before the rig, like most i feel, i attended a workshop. i didnt notice a push of brands. and who cares?! we're all gear-heads anyways. its just good to get in the vest and be at the bottom of a learning curve. brett.
