Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted December 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 Just a little tip for Trandvideo users: If you want to make your monitor better visible especially while night-shooting go to: for Rainbow HD: Adjust - Profiles - select LINEAR and it looks like you just switched the ASA to 3200. similar for the Cinemonitor HD line. It then uses a linear gamma, vs a curved. Makes for a much better visible image, especially at night....
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted December 22, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 22, 2014 Great Tip Jens! Though I do not own a Transvideo (yet), I just did a horror feature where everything was a stop or more underexposed (because "scary"?). I had to crank the brightness significantly just to keep composition, but also to spot things in the frame (that no one at village could see). I had to continually remind the DP not to judge off my monitor, he seemed constantly disappointed by that fact....Any sorts of tips like this are bound to come in handy occasionally, I love when they are shared :)
Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted January 2, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 2, 2015 i remember seeing some lines of funny commentary by the transvideo on another operators rig. something like "well hello there..." id like to know how to do that. but the linear tip is great, im looking forward to using it. pressing and holding the knob is a great quick menu close feature instead of having to scroll to exit out of each menu when you are two or three deep.
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted February 18, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2015 10% zoom aka Alexa zoom feature is for Evolution and X-sbl monitors firmware 7.24 Gives you a bigger image and eliminates the status info top and bottom without affecting the surround view. Select 10% zoom and then press and hold zoom to center image, this is stored and automatically recalled upon start up. You can then also add framelines that will match that zoom factor.
