From what I understand after reading some of the posts here in the forum is that the old style 3A/EFP dovetail plate will fit a Provid. Is this correct ? Which Steadicam models use the same dovetail plate as the Provid ? I would like to purchase one from a US dealer that may have it in stock so I could get it relatively quickly. I think that the 3A/EFP dovetail will fit your Provid and I'm 100% sure that the SK2 and Flyer dovetails will fit also. Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted January 8, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 8, 2015 SK2, Provid, Flyer, Pilot, Zephyr, Scout, Archer have the same dovetail size, the only difference is that the SK2 and Provid need a rail underneath to interact with the fore and aft gear that is not present on the other designs. Checking to see if Tiffen has them in stock. Indeed, the SK and ProVid used the narrower plate identical to that used on the Flyer and Zephyr. Unsure if that gear rack plate is still in stock, since most of the new stages have moved on from the gear rack/ wheel bit for fore/aft. There is alot of excellent information and advise from members here on the forum. I'm sure I'm going to have more questions while I'm getting this rig up and running.
