Matt Mouraud
Just a quick note for you guys to let you know how fantastic the workshop is. Garrett Brown is just an incredible teacher, very funny, charming,... Jerry Hollway is just the right man. Very focused, precise, dedicated. Not forgetting our very own Chris Fawcett who is just the right man for posture. His physical knowledge is unbelievable, and the lecture he gave us about the right posture was breathtaking ! The shots designed by Jerry and Garrett are incredibly challenging, exciting, very difficult. Dream steadicamer shots. I'll post pictures very soon, but I want to say that for all of out there guessing about taking a workshop or not, which was my case, I'd say go, go, go !!! Matt Mouraud
That's it... Finished... Went by in a flash... Some mad stuff, I mean way mad, some unbelievable stuff. The actors from a show being shot next door to us lining to see Garrett operate was fun. They couldn't believe their eyes, nor could we when he shot the last exercise. We had music for this shot, and there was a real emotion going on. And of course Garrett's humor and practical jokes made the whole workshop a fun and entertraining experience. We are preparing a web page with pictures and videos, it should be up sometimes next week, when we are done sorting through the hundreds of pictures and videos. And the main point is that we improved on a lot of things and it shows on screen.

Nils Ruinet
Hi Matt ! I totally agree, this workshop was brilliant ! It's totally worth the price. I actually learned much more during these 6 days, than during the previous 6 month alone... Everyone who's considering becoming a steadicam operator should really do one. I also liked the fact that it was international, it was nice having people from at least 10 different countries there. I liked the way they taught us not only the technical part, but also how to make interesting shots, how to use the steadicam to tell a story (and not just moving for no reason just because you can). Garrett's shot was so interesting, it could actually be part of a film. You're right Matt about Chris's lecture, so important to keep our back out of trouble ! Also, this segway thing was pretty amazing, I think it will make incredible shots possible. Their new arms (G50 / G70) are very good too. Guido, you're right, Alex is a great and very nice guy. And so were all the other instructors as well. Valentin couldn't make it, but Jacques (his father) came for the last 2 days. Talking with him was very interesting too. He's been one of the first french steadicam operators. Thank you to Garrett, Jerry, Chris, Kareem, Alex, Stefano, Ruben, Patrick and to all the students for this memorable week ! Cheers, Nils. Premium Members Kareem La Vaullee Posted May 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 11, 2006 Hi, I just received the Trailer for the upcoming DVD made with the making-of tapes from the International Steadicam Workshop Paris 2005 on which I had the honor to participate as instructor and Garret and Jerry's Translator. I made that trailer available here : http://homepage.mac.com/klavaullee/.Movies/ISWDVDT.mp4 It's a 21 Mb file so you will have to wait a bit for it to download completely. I hope you will like watching it and that you will see how fun it was for all of us to be part of that great experience... I have been asked to work on the DVD and will let you know how it turns out. I am sure that the guys on this week's Worskshop in Sweden are having a lot of fun too, Enjoy ! K.
