Mike Mohun
I have a steadicam pilot with a black magic cinema camera and an ikan tilta cage. I'd like to secure the cage to the cheese plate of the steadycam but the holes do not align properly. I've searched the web and find absolutely no solutions as if I am the only one with this problem. It leads me to think I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions? I'd like to be able to attach my cage with matte box and all.
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted January 25, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted January 25, 2015 Mike Take a couple of pictures but what I supect is happening is that u are trying to connect several pieces with one screw into your steadicam dovetail and this ican piece and your camera . This is a bad idea and seldom works. I have several ideas on how to make this work but need to see the pieces. Janice
Premium Members Frank Born Posted January 26, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 26, 2015 The Pilot plate is meant to be fixed to the camera/cage with only one screw. The hole distances of the plate/cage do not match. Cheers, Frank
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted January 26, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted January 26, 2015 Frank If only one hole fits on the cage to the pilot plate then the old school solution is a piece of tape in a loop or sticky Velcro between plate and cage etc. will keep the plate from spinning. One screw is enough to hold plate onto the cage and camera. Janice
Mike Mohun
Thank you both for your replies. I found it odd that only one screw is to be utilized, which explains my confusion: in other words, I guess I was doing it wrong.

There's not enough space for a regular one. ;-) Cheers, Frank
