Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 It wouldn't be too hard to rehouse an HD receiver inside of an existing monitor with the addition of a custom machined replacement back for a monitor. Premium Members Daniel Stilling DFF Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 I still like having the monitor separate from the receiver. They can be independently upgraded, repaired and so on. Who knows what will become obsolete first?
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 zero (frame) delay, same as the current ones, just a much smaller package... http://www.transvideo.eu/Wireless-video
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 Small amount of latency not too bad for a hand held directors monitor. Certainly bad for operating.
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 Jens, what are you on payroll at Transvideo? Sure, just going to plunk down 7000 euro for a director's monitor. Something we will never recover. I don't know about you, but most of us are in this to actually make some money. Anyway, off topic. I might be interested in a smaller, cheaper receiver to compliment the 2000.
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted February 12, 2015 Author Moderators Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 While the appeal of an "all-in-one" unit seems cool on the surface, I'd prefer to keep them separate. The Bolt PRO reciever weighs nothing so if something like that were to come along for the higher end transmitters, I'd say keep it separate so someone can put it on whatever monitor they want (Odyssey recorder, small HD, Cinetronic… and Jens can put his on the Transvideo….. sorry, but I couldn't resist. Please start a new topic to discuss that unit).
Premium Members Mike Gailing Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 Mike : what is different about the current Bolt Pro 600 receiver that it won't work with the 2000 Transmitters? Hey Walter, Both products use different Amimon chipsets. Amimon has not allowed cross compatibility with their systems just yet and may never actually allow it. This is just one of those things that we're all limited by...
Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 Mike, I must say, I could not be happier with the recent purchase of my Teradek Bolt Pro 2000. After owning a Teradek Bolt Pro SDI for the last two years, I am satisfied with my upgrade.
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 I wish I was, but no . Merely providing info and the next monitor is based on a smaller lighter much cheaper monitor, stay tuned... Jens, what are you on payroll at Transvideo? Premium Members James Davis Posted February 12, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 This looks like a nice option to protect receivers on the directors monitor, in case anyone hasn't seen it already: http://woodencamera.com/Director-s-Monitor-Cage.html

tim trotman
Hi all, Totally agree with Alec. Having a smaller, shorter range, receiver that works with the 2000 system would be great. Half of the time the director is right next to the camera anyway. Giving him/her their own monitor while being able to simultaneously transmit longer range back to the rest of video village would be fantastic.
