Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 15, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2015 Hi, What are you guys using to pack your CineLive sled/arm/vest? I saw Brett's option of the all in one Thermodyne ( http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=19793&p=97343 ), but I'm looking for separate cases. Thanks
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted February 15, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2015 I believe the Pelican 1650 / Storm IM2950 would fit it quite comfortably. My Pro 2 hanger and sled are a bit snug in the 1650, but it fits. With the Gen 4 battery hanger, it should fit perfectly. Also, the width of the sled is almost exactly the width of the 1st layer of foam, so you can cut it out yourself or get a hard foam laser cut and would fit nicely.
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 15, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2015 Thanks! I'll look into it. What about the arm and the vest? Is there room for the arm in the sled case? Do you just use a bag for the vest?
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted February 15, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2015 For working around town I just use a bag for the arm/vest. When shipping I use a case. Pelican 1620 is just right with room to wrap foam around the bag. I use this North Face bag: http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/base-camp-duffel-medium.html but I'm not positive about the size. The size I have is either medium or large, and it fits the vest/arm perfectly, but it's a bit of a fight to get it in because the opening is not as wide as the bag. One size up would probably solve that problem. I have a titan arm, an atlas might be more of a fight because it is longer. With my master arm it was almost no fight at all. A cinelive sled with DB2/gen 4 base would fit great in a 1650. Mine with DB3 and Gen III base leaves an inch of foam on either side.
Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted February 16, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 16, 2015 Go to Innerspace case and have them custom fit you a SKB case Same size as a storm 2950 or pelican 1650 only the SKB has better latches and slightly more volume Your welcome Lol Jm2c
Premium Members James Davis Posted February 16, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 16, 2015 I had a custom Aluminium case made by a UK company called case design, with my cinetronic Gen1 monitor tilted at 90 degrees before I put it away, my sled goes away fully built with no assembly required other than plugging in cables, the case accomodates my gorelock bracket, mag-dock, some tools, 3 x dovetail plates, a cable wallet and some brackets too. It's also small enough it fits on the shelf of a Jr magliner or Inovative 37 inch cart, when it's laid out flat.
Premium Members Olli Schumann Posted February 17, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 17, 2015 I use for my flights within Europe 2x StormCase IM3100 and 1x StormCase IM2750 there's all small stuff and the Pro Vest. The inside foam is all Custom Made this interior fittings are handmade! Unfortunately, the hand-making of the foam is not cheap, but what is nice cheap. at such expensive material is nothing too cheap !!! ;-) Best OLLI

Just picked this up today to replace my worn out canvas duffel I was using. Thanks for the recommendation, it is much nicer. I bought a large and everything fits great. Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted February 23, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 Here's what we have for our CineLive system. Charlie at Master Case made this up for me based on the Stormcase 2950. This has been in use for about 18-20 months now. The drop in top tray works perfect. He has this layout on file. Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 20, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks Robert for the inspiration. I went with the Storm Case IM2950 as well but I used a DIY foam instead, the Kaizen foam. Cut it yourself and you can pluck the layers to your liking, then I used carpet tape to tape the pads together. http://www.thepelicanstore.com/kaizen-im2950-6pc-foam-set-1541.aspx

I use this North Face bag: http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/base-camp-duffel-medium.html Hey Brian, Thanks for the tip here - To clarify, when you ship your arm+vest you first put them inside the duffle bag then into the Pelican 1620? Do you keep a layer of foam inside the 1620 or is it empty to accommodate the duffle bag? Thanks, Drew

Premium Members Libor Cevelik Posted October 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 22, 2015 Hi , it is the Storm Case iM2950 with custom foam. I went to http://www.mycasebuilder.com. I still have the template on file. happy to share. :D
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted October 22, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted October 22, 2015 Yep. IM2950 is the best case for this. I used a DIY foam inside called Kaizen foam. Much more robust than the shitty pluck and pull, but still really cheap since you cut it yourself with a box cutter. http://www.thepelicanstore.com/kaizen-im2950-6pc-foam-set-1541.aspx
