Steadicam Flyer for Sale

Turns out my operating is way better than my novice effort at chroma key :) Think I'll leave the photos alone.

Located in Canberra Australia.

Exceptional condition flyer. Original only owner. Only used about 10-12 times, kept in its softcase inside. Thought of frequently... Not used enough to justify keeping it (though I've talked myself out of it for years).

Totevision 703HD monitor mounted, and original SD monitor fully functional included (which has slight surface mark on right edge).

I have threaded a compoent cable (flat 3 way) up through the post alongside the original composite cable, happy to remove or leave.

The totevision I am pretty sure either the vga/dvi or both do not function, I've only used the composite/component anyway. The mount where it screws on has some slight bending, I've never bothered to bend it back, seems solid, flown with it a few times. Comes with remote, screen is a1 condition.

Arm in sterling condition. One slight chipping of paint in the middle.

Vest in excellent condition. Still smells new. I've stuffed some gaff in the clips as right from the first time I used it I noticed them making some noise as I moved. I presume it was common for the model, never did anything about it, works fine.

Socket block thumbscrews have unusual amount of surface rust compared to every other piece. Functional, easily replaced.

Anton Bauer battery mounts, 1 vlock conversion mount included. Bottom of the ab mount has a small piece of white velco I used for a DIY rain cover. Can be removed.

No batteries included (sold the ABs with last camera, keeping the vlocks for current). If you wish some dead weight old stackable vlocks, you can have 2 dead ones included for their shipping weight (they may be able to be refreshed if anywhere still does that).

Original power lemo, bnc thin cable, and thin composite cable included. 3 long allen keys in good condition.

Black stand, and stand top, great condition

Soft case, great condition

Top plate, great condition. The mini holding screw and the 3/8th screw have burring. They are currently functional, but could do with replacing.

Who could forget the NTSC and PAL training videos! I am not sure I ever had a VHS even when I bought it. Both included for nostalgia.

Shpping weight is 45lbs / 20kgs in the softcase dimensions.

Happy to field any questions. I am looking for a quick sale now that I have finally brought myself to sell it. Otherwise I'll slip back to keeping it :)

USD $2950 ono. (currently AUD$3775)

Hi res photos here (and many of them). Low res below.

I had a member ask me about weight capacity. 2nd gen flyer black arm is 15lbs.

I'd read stripped down red about 18lbs is about it.

This looks like more : http://www.steadi-onfilms.com.au/steadicam_flyer.html

And I recall reading about some mods for the top plate screws or something to make sure it can take even a bit more.

What are members experiences with weight and this rig? What's the heaviest you've flown it without feeling like you are going to break it?

Cheers
