Premium Members Kyle Wullschleger Posted February 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) I own a Titan arm and I'm going to be operating a show for the next two weeks where I'd like to give the Atlas a whirl - does anyone have an interest/need for the Titan arm on anything where they'd be willing to trade ownership for a bit? Located in NYC - the show is on a stage, entirely one location. Just wanting to lighten my load as much as possible and the Atlas is looking like a great option. I figure it can't hurt to throw it out there - hit me up if you'd be willing to work something out - kwullschleger@gmail.com My Titan is 2 blue/2black springs. Your Atlas would just need to have 2 gray canisters and I'd be happy. Edited February 22, 2015 by Kyle Wullschleger
Premium Members Chris Loh Posted February 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 From my understanding, the Titan arm weighs less than the Atlas arm by about a pound..? Maybe I heard wrong, but the Atlas is actually heavier than the Titan despite it's lower weight capacity. Not saying you shouldn't give it a try, but I don't think it will "lighten your load" at all so to speak.
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted February 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 The Atlas is actually heavier due to the added boom range. It has a much slimmer feel to it though.
Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted February 22, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 just put in the two black canisters and take out the two blues and fly your titan its lighter that way
Premium Members Kyle Wullschleger Posted February 22, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 Good to know! I should have just sent Pro and email asking for the weights of the arms before I assumed. The Atlas just looks so sleek. I've got a hunch that two blacks won't quite cut it unfortunately... but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted February 22, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted February 22, 2015 To clarify (I own both), the Atlas weighs a tiny bit more than the Titan (with only two springs in it obviously) but does indeed feel slimmer. The Atlas also has a slightly better boom range because half of each bone is flat (not needing the space for the additional canisters). Otherwise same geometry and same feel.
