Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted May 18, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted May 18, 2015 Correction: ArriRaw 2.8k Native 3.2k ProRes UHD 4k by upscaling the 3.2k Arriraw does not capture the surround view. 3.2k and up does. Quote
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted May 18, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted May 18, 2015 UHD is 3.8k for Television http://www.arri.com/camera/alexa/learn/alexa_sxtsxr_faq/ Quote

Premium Members Michael Hauer Posted May 25, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted May 25, 2015 Just seeking some clarification here. Netflix doesn't allow UHD Alexa footage?! What about Raw? Is this true of other up and streaming players like Hulu and such? Does this mean the push to 4k is finally an actual thing brought on by the streaming vs cable competition? Will we soon have to use inferior cameras until Arri releases a true 4k camera? 1 Quote
Premium Members Walter F. Rodriguez Posted May 26, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted May 26, 2015 Indeed, the people who use the most compressed files of any distribution say they won't accept non UHD native footage. There are exceptions. Orange is the new Black started on ProRes Alexa and is still shot that way. Quote

Yes, that is certainly the case with Netflix; I'm doing a show for them now and they insist on it regardless of whether the Alexa provides a better image. it is the streaming vs cable thing as you smartly point out. Or a fight over bandwidth with the cable/internet providers. Quote

Same with "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," but that went into production as an NBC show and then switched to NETFLIX. 1 Quote

Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted December 6, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted December 6, 2015 I have a shoot coming up in a few days with the Mini. In the video the battery plate that they add onto the camera does not seem to have any cable that supplies the camera. I am guessing it doesnt use a standard ARRI power cable ? Quote
Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted December 6, 2015 Premium Members Report Posted December 6, 2015 same as amira power cable. every time I've used the Mini the battery plate does have a cable. haven't watched this video, but the power is as normal as you'd expect it to be. Quote
