He's made me a few cables to interface between my Master Elite and add ons I've bought over the years including a back up LCD monitor. http://www.productioncableservices.com/ Thanks Paul, I will check that out, but after my wanky workaround job tomorrow...All those fancy plugs and connectors and to make it all work I have had to get down to stranded wire and terminals. I'm set and prepped but so many unnecessary cables, no zen, too complicated. No challenge too big, every day a different story. Welcome to the Kevin Andersen show! For those own own one or has owned one, what are the advantages and disadvantages in having one. Also thanks to Janice Arthur,for her insight on ALOT of things. Thank you. What I was going to do is buy a new masters vest, either a blue or gold arm,most likely blue and a sled, but i really like some insight on the masters. Thanks. That modification will happen for the next job. In the meantime, I would love to get more technical info on the MSB sled, as I was caught by surprise (DOH!) to have my brick drained by presumeably the flg inside that elegant enclosure. I love the gimbal and arm with this rig, even dialed in at the lowest weight and it was still smooth as silk. I love the big gimbal grip as I always used a 3A gimbal. What I hate is that the clips for the gimbal and telescope were too easy to accidently pop so I had to velcro them. No biggie. Also I would like to spread the battery farther away from the post and the same with my monitor. I'll be making some changes with those areas. In the end, all went well, I am out of retirement and did moderately good work for people who don't know what good work is... Anyone have any more info on the Master series Broadcast sled? I'd like some schematics for the FLG and anything else to help me customise more. Seems like Tiffen should have something digital??? You mentioned you would like to get the battery further away from the post? I'm not sure what battery plate you have on, I have an AB plate. If you didn't know there's an allen key fixture hidden at the base of the plate which lets you to let the plate out away from the base of the sled. Gives you an inch or two but it can make all the difference. Obviously the monitor has a matching allen key fixture. Whilst I do like the green screen for all its benefits, I am in the process of getting hold of a 7" colour LCD and rigging it up to the sled - makes the rig a bit lighter for the longer days and should mean longer battery run times. Useful to have a good quality colour picture too. I've taken to using velcro cable ties around the lower post clamp 100% of the time, especially when the post is extended. I've never had a clamp open up on me but I'd rather not risk dropping the thing on the floor. I've heard many horror stories... This morning I rifled through this company's disorganized boxes and cases and found the same operator's manual as you described. Thanks for your help. I'll have to take a closer look at this and I am embarrassed to admit that many of my answers are in this manual, which I have now, the DAY AFTER I needed it! I'd like to find the hardware to elevate the lens height. My 3A arm let me use tall posts and I have not found all the parts and pieces yet. I will look into the extra extension for the battery via allen wrench. I know it sounds crazy, but with these tiny little cameras I have to rig dumbweight and I want to spread the loads to get better resistance to the mass ratio. I'll take back some of my disappointments as I see some of the fabulous advancements in the upper balancing stage and I finally have a harness that doesn't hurt, but I must be skinny or something because I am dialed as tight as I can on the straps and would prefer to make the hip connection tighter. Thanks for your help. I just feel lucky to be operating again, and with someone else's investment, but the gear is "mine" and after I make some rigging and electrical mods I will be very happy! I am sure whitehouse AV can put you in the right direction for extended posts for the master arm. When I use Joe McNally s master arm he has had machined up a post at 3a size (5/8") if thats easily possible I am sure any good machinist could make up your extended posts why don t u sell me your master arm and get yourself a nice new g50 perfect for your lightweight cameras? Ever dealt with a soverign tribe gov't and huge corporate mess? I am dedicated to making better use of the gear I am supplied...unlike all you owner.operators (asd i was for 15 years) I can only use what is supplied..but not have to pay the insurance or loans. When I first saw it on the cover of one of the old Steadicam newsletters, I would lie in bed staring at it, dreaming of the possibilites. At the time my trusty modified model 2, was becoming less than trusty and it was time for a change. I remember the day she arrived...it was a cool Fall day, okay...you get the point. It was a far cry better than the model 2, so that was what I was comparing it to. The remote trim was very helpful as I was regularly using a BL2 and 3. The monitor was much brighter and bigger than the model 2 screen. Having 24 volts on board as a production unit was new for CP and was very reliable and effective (although later with the 435 it became an issue solved by adding an additional battery in place of the converter). The extendable post was great for low mode for us tall people.
