Premium Members JobScholtze Posted February 7, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 I must say that your units look the same as the 100 dollar units from china. Whats the difference?
Guest Jeremy Hawkins
We use the same case manufacturer as those units did, then put in our own transmitter as well as the specially designed internal regulator set up that makes them capable of connecting to Anton Bauer or other power packs without exploding, generating a tremendous amount of heat, or sucking down battery power; all while remaining compact and lightweight. Nope...they'll be the same. As I said, the cases are identical. It is the electronics that are different.

Premium Members Peter Milanov Posted February 11, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 11, 2007 I happen to have one of these around, so I opened it up and took a picture. Now Jeremy, all you have to do is show us yours :) (mine is a 1.2 Mhz 1000mW)
Guest Jeremy Hawkins
Wow! Nice find! As soon as we get some in stock (we were swamped this month, I even shipped out all of my demo units) I will put up a pic!
Premium Members Peter Milanov Posted March 9, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 How is it going Jeremy? Still none in stock? It´s been a month, shouldn´t take that long even if you have to get them from...well, China... :P
Guest Jeremy Hawkins
Sorry I have been remiss in getting the pic, but my business partner is a paranoid bastard and has been flipping out about trade secret issues, as nothing inside is patented. My contention is that one could merely buy our unit and take it apart to see what we did to improve it, but nonetheless he is going nuts. So... How about this: I will be at NAB (our booth fell through, so I will not have one...gotta get me a new business partner) and I will have the equipment with me. Anyone who wants to can bring their Modulus, Canatrans, etc and we can do a direct comparison between the 2 units. If you bring a comparison unit, I will give a 15% discount on any AV Wireless purchase. If you merely show up for the demo, it is 10%. Both discounts are dependent upon at least one of the attendants writing up a unbiased comparison and posting it here. Send me an email and I will give you my cell number to set it up. This should resolve the issue once and for all, don't you think? -Jeremy

Premium Members JobScholtze Posted April 15, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 15, 2007 hmmmm...partners with mr byro? It was a nice try though. Buy that cheap chinese crap, call it steadicam transmitter or whatever and voila. Try before you buy, show your gear and perhaps we bite :P Affraid for stealing your designs? LOL So if i buy one, i need to sign a contract to NOT open this device, make a pic and post it on the forum? funny stuff
Guest Jeremy Hawkins
OK...I give up. I guess I am just the best salesman in the world because I have sold these in great volume to Wexler, VMI, tons of individual production companies etc. All of these people are morons because they are buying cheep Tiawaneese imports for a huge mark-up. Or you can go to these people, who are also tech guys as well as a rental outfit, and see about our stuff. If you go to the contact page, you can see who these poor gullible bastards are, as many of you will likely have worked on them before. http://www.cmountindustries.com/rentals/index.html Ask them how they could have been fooled by such a simple scam. Look, if a direct comparison demo is not good enough evidence for you, then you are not working from a logical position but from an ideology. You are so sold on your current equipment it doesn't matter if there is cheaper and better out there. The steadicam community is not a huge market segment. If you want to continue using what you are using, that is perfectly fine, but the rest of the production industry will continue to move on. As to the monitor, that fell through because the company I was dealing with wanted us to make 2 or 3 month when our minimum order for having these units made by the companies involved was 1000. You do the math on if that is a smart investment or not. And becides, even if we made the best and cheapest on the market, you clearly wouldn't buy it because you would be married to your current units, just as you are to your overpriced, under-performing transmitters and receivers. To all those who have a scientific bone left in them in this community, my offer still stands. And if you want a REAL challange I specifically chalange Eric to see these units in action. He is clearly the expert and knows what the best are. He can then go on here and have a great time tearing me apart telling you all what a fraud I am and how pathetic my stuff is. Or I will have convinced EVEN HIM, my toughest (and most wrong) critic, and you can take HIS word for it. Of course, even if he gives me a good review, I suspect you all would merely assume I bribed him.
