Jeowf
HI guys I'm getting play in my bartech digital wireless follow focus (if I go to a 20 ft mark from one direction it'll be fine but from the other direction I'll hit 18 ft or so and my focus will be off especially on tighter lenses). I have a Heden M26VE. I've had a play with the HU2 from preston with DM1X Motors and found it to be amazing. I've heard that the digital DM1X motor will work with my bartech however it won't have as higher bit depth (12 instead of 16 bit or similar). Eventually I want to upgrade to a preston but in the meantime I'm wondering if it'll get rid of my play problem. Thanks Jeff
Premium Members JimBartell Posted May 5, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 5, 2015 Have you tried increasing the torque to the motor? This can eliminate the problem. The 12 vs.16 bit resolution has nothing to do with the motor, it only has to do with which version of the handset and receiver you are using. The handset has to have the iris upgrade to transmit 16 bit data and the receiver must be a V2-1 model. Jim Bartell
Jeowf
I tried increasing torque and it certainty did increase accuracy. I also got to use a really slippery lens today which seem to make my bfd more accurate (not spot on though) which leads me to believe that the stiffness of the lens contributes to the accuracy therefore if I get a stronger motor I'll get better accuracy.
