Premium Members daniel hanit Posted May 19, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2015 Transvideo Rainbow 7" vs Boland new 7" vs SmallHD... Hi all, has anyone tried all 3 high brightness monitors and can say which is the best in his opinion? I'm looking to replace my Marshall 6.5" monitor and would love some advice... Thanks! Premium Members Peder Torp Mathisen Posted May 19, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2015 Hi Daniel! I haven't tried the monitors you mention, but I'm very happy with my BON. It's the BEM-072h highbright with 1100 nits. http://www.bon.co.kr/eng/products/models.html?model=bem072h Peder

Premium Members Dustin Heindl Posted May 20, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 I have the Cinemonitor hd and I don't even own a hood the thing is so bright (at "user 100%") setting. It's got an amazing level and I upgraded to inertia compensation horizon, which isn't really needed. There is even a 6" version that they came out with that comes with a brighter screen and the upgraded horizon stock... Couldn't imagine even brighter. However, I used the Transvideo Rainbow when I had to send mine in and I couldn't see anything ... LIKE ANYTHING it was terrible. Had some cool features, but you could really only use it as a AC monitor with a nice hood.
Premium Members daniel hanit Posted May 20, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 Thanks for your input Dustin! Im looking for a lighter monitor than the Cinemonitor, even though I'm aware that that is a great piece of equipment. It's disappointing to hear that the Rainbow is not viewable in sun light situations, guess it's the Boland or SmallHD now...(-;

You'd probably use the high bright mode outdoors, thats what its for. Can't comment on the Boland but I would choose the Transvideo over the SmallHD hands down. (using as an AC monitor). Premium Members daniel hanit Posted May 21, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2015 Thanks for you help guys! Evrim, how does the level of the Rainbow compares with other levels? Also, does the screen have a lot of reflections in daylight viewing? Cheers!
George Grammatikos
Go transvideo for one more reason . latency <1 frame Smallhd ~4frames boland ? Premium Members daniel hanit Posted May 22, 2015 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 22, 2015 Hi Frederic, What are your thoughts of the digital level of the Rainbow? Thanks for helping! Daniel
Evrim KAYA
digital level on transvideo rainbow HD is very well programmed an it works as it should. i heard very bad feedback from smallHD users about their level although i never saw myself. when i mailed small HD about a possible upgrade they said "There is not a firmware upgrade coming to address the horizon indicator.
