Nacho Minguez
Hi, I need to shoot with the Sony HDW-750 in 16:9 mode and my Steadicam monitor doesn´t support 16:9. Is possibe to send the video signal to the steadicam monitor in letterbox mode (with black bands) instead the real 16:9 signal? Kind regards Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator B) SPAIN B)
Premium Members Thomas English Posted October 15, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 yup.... definately. I don t know how but I often find this camera in this mode and don t have the time to go through the engineers menu to sort it. Leaving me using the 4/3 section on my transvideo. Nacho Minguez
Thank you Thomas for the answer. I finally get the operation manual and the menu has letterbox output mode if module HKDW-702 is installed. If not, if a miranda downconverter is installed, they have a selectable letterbox output :) Best Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
Premium Members Thomas English Posted October 15, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 I assume the module HKDW-702 is the inbuilt downconverter on the 750. I have heard rumours of 750 s out there without inbuilt downconverters! I assume anyone with half a brain would have this but you never know. On the Miranda its done with the little dip switches

Yeah, I have read literature on the 730 / 750 online, and some units do not have downconverters inbuilt. Not sure as to why, but it's always worth checking with the facilities people before you turn up for the job!
