I know this has been discussed but anyone know of an existing product I can add on and control myself? I would like to demo and possibly rent or buy. Alexa Mini to go inside. You do not use any of the level sensors, rotating monitor, etc. It is a simple carbon fiber roll cage that sits on any model Steadicam and plugs into your Preston MDR Zoom port for power. It's rotation is then controlled remotely via a Microforce. And Ryan, thanks for the kudos, but I am by no means an AR guru. Premium Members Benjamin Treplin Posted August 9, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 9, 2015 The AR needs a bit of modification, if you want to operate it without having to fight it. You need risers for the camera plate and utilize lens motors and other acc. to trim the camera on the Z-axis inside the cage. The whole sled should be neutrally balanced, drop-time, camera-cage and monitor/monitor arm. If you want to rotate the camera, trimming the camera neutral inside the cage is mandatory. Furthermore it makes it a lot easier to have a monitor that rotates in sync. At least my brain is not capable to adjust the framing precisely with a fixed monitor while the camera rotates to 90 deg and 180 deg. Lawrence if you go with an AR cage and a manual rotation have a second monitor like a starlite mounted 90 deg next to you regular one. This may turn into a 3 axis Lambda on a jib arm or a 3 axis remote head. They are trying to avoid the complication of building that in some very tight sets/locations. I was trying to save a link off Chapmans Facebook page. Its got a 7 ft telescope boom range and mounts straight onto a Hybrid dolly, and can take a 3 axis remote with full camera package. Should work great for tight spaces. I've seen it Sanjay. Nice piece of gear, especially for what they are charging for it. Looking for less complication. The key has an Aero jib and I've got remote heads. Original thought was a Movi but even that appeared overly complicated, time consuming, and fussy in the demo.
