Darren Bastecky
Hi All, I Have Stedicam Pilot VL, and would like to know if its possible to upgrade the internal wiring to a lemo connection so i can power and use my RED Monitor and power the camera (RED Scarlet Dragon) from the Stedicam bottom mounted Battery. Has anybody been able to upgrade their rig, or know where to order parts and cables ( Maybe from a higher end Stedicam) that can be retrofitted to my Pilot. Running the cables off the camera is pretty tricky to operate, and having v lock battery on the camera is just overkill with weight. Im in Australia. My Stedicam only has sd connection and dc power connectors thanks for your help in Advance. Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted August 27, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 27, 2015 www.mediablackout.net will make any cables and adapters you need. Don't try to use the red monitor as your Steadicam monitor. It's a bad idea. Instead use an HDSDI monitor and power the camera through the sled. Also Red cameras are extremely power hungry, not sure that the internal wording of your sled cans whist and such power load and you might be damaging it over time. The Zephyr was already borderline. Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted August 27, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted August 27, 2015 The guys at Lemac (Melbourne)are great .They upgraded a pilot for a local film school I teach at .We replaced the original monitor (sd) with a Small Hd monitor and it works well. Also upgraded all plug to HD . They are using smaller cameras though. Good luck with it . Louis
