Victor Lasche
Hi all, I'm wanting to buy my first rig and I found a Pilot used on craigslist. I'm curious if an experienced operator can help. The ad says it has an HDMI modification. Is this something normally done by a professional service person? If it's poorly done, is there someone who can perform (or re-do) such a modification correctly in the LA area? Also, what should I look for - are there particular types of damage that are common from mishandling? Thanks!
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted December 15, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2015 Hi Victor, You would have to look at photos/see the rig to see how it is done. Most of the time it is done by threading a HDMI mini cable through the post. Anyways, If you are looking to buy from Craigslist I would strongly recommend you test the device in person prior to buying. Check that all the electronics work, that the gimbal is properly centered (balance a camera with the lens facing to the right, of the stand, then flip it 180 for face the left, the camera should still be perfectly horizontal) and that the steadicam works as it is supposed to. Premium Members Andrew Payne Posted December 15, 2015 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 15, 2015 (edited) Does the post have an opening at the bottom to allow an HDMI plug to pass? Edited December 15, 2015 by Andrew Payne
