Premium Members danny bishop Posted March 1, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 1, 2016 Hello, I'm looking for some advice for a video transmitter for using on a 35mm camera (Arri LT). I have back to back jobs and I want my own transmitter for Steadicam and I wondered if anyone had one for sale - or could give me advice for a good reliable one to use. I'm based in London and am happy to pay to get it shipped. many thanks Danny
Richard James Lewis
A Navtech would be your best bet. I still have mine kicking around, just incase! Let me know if you want to work out a rental thing. R x
Premium Members Nils Valkenborgh Posted March 1, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 1, 2016 Hi Danny, Marell is a reliable choice as well, less fancy than the Navtech Rover of course, but a lot cheaper. As luck would have it, it seems optical support still has one for sale, I bought one off of them last year and it literally has the advertised range of approximately 750m+ http://www.marell.co.uk/videolinks/MVL-1394KIT/ http://opticalsupport.com/misc-sales/ They're based in London as well so it might work out for you just to drop by Optical Support Nils

Premium Members Jarrett P. Morgan Posted March 1, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 1, 2016 Also, just throwing out another option: I have seen several folks now just use a composite to SD-SDI converter then throw a bolt 2000 on. Ends up working very well.

Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 2, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 2, 2016 Now I just up Rez to HDSDI and use your standard monitoring system. My sled monitor works better in HD anyways so that how I go. Super cheap converter with little to no latency. Aja, Blackmagic or Decimator make them.
