Matt Poynter
Morning all. I'm getting some upper outer left leg pain, tensor fascia area, after about 1/2 hour or so. I have a Steadicam vest, G70, Goofy, with an Ultra 2. I've taken a video of my posture, I seem upright, neck isn't craning to see the monitor, and my stride seems equal. Any thoughts? I'm stretching every morning and before I mount up. Currently on a drama and the rig is on pretty much every day for a couple of scenes. I was fine for the first month or so. Premium Members Shawn Wang Posted March 29, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 29, 2016 I am thinking maybe the vest isn't fitting right ? does the plastic part digs way into your tensor fascia area ? Â try adjust your socket block higher / lower and see if the pain shifts to a different area or not. Â the pain might be a build up. Â try readjusting or just simply try another vest like a pro vest / klassen / exo and see. Â Â but each vest spreads load differently on your body. so try em out
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted March 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 30, 2016 Be careful. If it feels like it could be nerve pain, you could be developing a herniated disc. See a doctor if it gets worse.

See a doctor if it gets worse.Alan, thanks for the warning. I'm not getting any back pain, I'm seeing my chiropractor on Saturday so I'll have a chat with him. I'll keep an eye on it. Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted March 30, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 30, 2016 Matt, just be aware that a herniated disc often times does not equate to back pain, but rather pain, numbness, or weakness down the butt, thigh, leg, ankle, foot, or toes. The pain will travel along the nerve if there is pressure on it. I hope you the best, and fly safe!

Jordan Keslow
Move the vest up higher on your body! The hip pads should not go lower than your hip bones. In some cases you may have the vest on and it seems to fit right but after taking the weight of the rig, the vest may ride lower and begin dig in below the hips. This can cause lots of leg pain. Your pinching a nerve. Try adjusting the vest so it rides high on the hips.
