Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted May 10, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 10, 2016 I've had this happen several times. The image from the mini will suddenly shift to the image I've attached. I can't determine if the issue is power or heat related. Just not sure what to make of this. In the past I've simply rebooted the camera and the image was proper. Had a job on Sunday, yes working on Mother's Day, where rebooting only temporarily fixed the issue. Eventually the camera behaved but for an hour during the day it was a real problem. Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Sandro Galv
you need to access the menu. and SDI change the video format and re change to the correct format! I don't have pictures now but I will do them!
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted May 10, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 10, 2016 That's not the problem, he has info around the edges. Had this problem once, figured it was having an identity crisis and momentarily thought it was a red.
Premium Members Tom Wills Posted May 10, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 10, 2016 I've had this issue on a Mini once, and rebooting fixed it. Never came back, so I thought it was just a momentary bug. Scary to hear it can reoccur and take down the camera. If anyone hears of a fix, I'd love to know it. Premium Members brett.mayfield Posted May 16, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 16, 2016 I've had so many issues with that camera but i still love it. rotating ND filters that won't stop, signal changing from 1.5G to 3G or 24p to 24psf, lockios, all of it...dare i say it kinda smells like the RED style of releasing a beta camera... Premium Members Ken Nguyen Posted May 16, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 16, 2016 I had this issues a few times. I happened when battery was low. Reboot didn't help. Changing battery helped. Â Cheers, Â Ken Nguyen.
Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted May 17, 2016 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 17, 2016 Ken, my situation was the same. Tried rebooting but found changing batteries helped. Strange since my voltage was reading well over 12 volts.
Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted November 1, 2016 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2016 Hi Everyone. After dealing with more power issues with the Mini via the Tilta powered cage im now running 24 volts directly to the camera from the sled. It solves so many issues. Low voltage in 12 volt can still power the camera but the WCU-4 will fail. Meaning it wont respond then fails to calibrate properly. I havent been able to re employ the WCU-4 since changing to 24 volts but something tells me life will be better. If i discover anything else i will report back. Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted November 13, 2016 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 13, 2016 24 volts is the way to go. WCU-4 is working perfectly. The higher voltage works best on my sled. YMMV. Im flying a terdek 2000, cinetape, mini with 2 small motors all in the Omega(teradek rides on the bottom). Waiting on the PAG 150s to arrive. Should give me evem more run time.
John Dy
A friend of mine told me about WCU-4. He also said it works perfectly with it. Great tip
