10" Pneumatic Casters with Total Lock Brakes

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know if such a thing exists on planet earth?

A 10" Pneumatic swivel caster with total lock brakes?

Must be a 4" x 4-1/2" standard mounting plate.

Been scouring the internet but can't find the right one. Here are a couple of examples of something close. The gray one in the picture is a 6" tire, and the black one is a 6-7/8 inch mounting plate and the tire is too wide.

If you want 10", American grip sells some badass ones with tire brake as well as rotation lock. They are the same ones on their crankovators. Expensive but really nice. I have three I never use just because I travel so much, and the rig usually sits on the cart

To be honest I wish they were exactly the same but 8"

Ron: looks like they basically sold you the wheels that go on the Roadrunner stands.

If the Axel is long enough, why not try getting 8" pneumatic wheels and modify the brake so it still brakes?

They are the same wheels, I love them, very well made. I tought of moving the axle up to see if it would work with an 8" tire but was kinda wanting to try putting these on the back of my rickshaw cart (or selling them before modifying them). I have 8" on the cart now and 10" is much better about getting over obstacles. I have mixed feelings about wheels on a stand -- beats the shit out of your gear, probably more so now that everyone has gore-locks

Yes Ron, that's what I'm looking for, awesome!

But I wanna put these on the rear end of a steadicam cart, so 10" size is perfect. Just need them to be a plate mount instead of a stem. Do you guys know if they come in a 4 x 4-1/2" plate mount to mate on a cart?

And on that note, have any of you thought about using them on a steadicam cart? Success, failure? Pros, cons?

I am thinking the same thing...I use the backstage shotsaver dolly as my cart and Want to put these on the back -- I miss not having breaks and having to use wheel chocks all the time. The lock for the rotation adds an inch so they may be too tall for my cart.
