After getting jerky motion from a M-one motor I called up don at loon video http://www.loonvideo.com and he told me to send it in with a check for his flat rate repair.

After waiting a month and seeing my check deposited I called back and ask about the motor. After it was found Don told me it was fixed and my motor be sent out with a tracking # and I see it next week. 2 weeks go by and I call Don. He tells me it has yet to be sent out and I should see it before the weekend. 2 more weeks go by and I call again. Somehow it has yet to be sent out again. Don tells me this time He will ensure I see it before the weekend. The weekend just passed and I call again today. Today I am told by Don that the motor has yet to be sent out. But it will be sent out this week.

Now I'm getting worried. Is this normal service at loon video? Don seems such a good guy I want to believe he is busy. but now it's been more than 3 months, after its repair.

Business as usual for him. He had my motor for over two months, and ultimately it wasn't fixed. I ended up sending it to Peter Hoare - he fixes and returns them from the UK in less than 2 weeks!

Let me know if you need an M-One in the mean time, mine is available for as long as you need it -

Kyle,

Sorry this happened to you , you should have researched this topic before you sent it in. This same thing happened to me and I got so fed up with his lies and incompetence that I literally called him three times a day all at different hours for two months straight and berated him on messages and whenever he picked up. I asked him if I should send the invoice for my sub rental fees he was costing me. I finally got the motor back repaired but it took months. I could not sell the motor fast enough. Its a very strong motor but I just can't own a product that has that kind of customer service.

Loon works is the name for a reason

he's a loon, thats for sure !

I wanted to have my motor sent to Peter Hoare, but because my motor deeded a pot replacement AND had a broken screw, I had to send it to Don for new parts.

The trick is to pay him only when you get your motor back, then make sure to call him every other day. When you speak on the phone with him, make sure to ask him for a deadline of the next step and tell him you will call back to check up on it. Got my motor back after one month now everything works.

This is similar to what I did. I burned out the encoder with a faulty cable, so I actually bought a Heden to replace it right away; then I sent my M-One to Loon for service. Since I had the replacement already, I only checked once every week or two. I eventually got the motor back after about six or seven months. The motor was working perfectly when I got it back, so I sold it.
