Michael Tien
I broke the arm receiver on my Actioncam vest yesterday. Looking to get a replacement. Will another manufacturers' part be compatible? Any ideas?
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted July 1, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 1, 2016 How is it attached? The standard that Pro, Tiffens, etc use is 5 or so smaller screws coming from the back. Theirs looks a bit different but can't be certain from the picture. Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted July 2, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 2, 2016 http://www.innocinema.com/ contact them, they are the distributor and should be able to get you a replacement
Michael Tien
Innocinema informed me that Action Products is no longer in business. They might have one in stock though. Fingers crossed. Do you think epoxy would hold this together until I find a replacement? Edited July 3, 2016 by Michael Tien
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted July 3, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 3, 2016 Epoxy probably isn't a great idea. If you can't get the proper socket block it may be possible to machine an adapter to mount a standard one. Cant really say how easy it would be without a closer look. Where are you located? Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted July 3, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 3, 2016 Innocinema and Action Products have the same owner, weird and no to expoxy

Michael Tien
Jess I'm in Sudbury Ontario presently. We've sent it to a welding shop to see what they can do.
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted July 4, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 4, 2016 Don't use a broken socket block, even if welded, that's the part that broke in the video that everyone was talking about. There is a tremendous ammount of pressure on that part and it will give again if you try to fix it. Look into using a Walter Klassen vest in the meantime, as they have the tilt socket as well (other standard vests won't work with the Action product arm)
Michael Tien
Found a welder! Not pretty but works for the meantime. Hopefully I can still get a backup. I'll check out the Klassen. Edited July 5, 2016 by Michael Tien
Evrim KAYA
I wouldn't use a welded socket block Michael. if anything, you might want to use a new one as main and the welded on as a backup (if you really really want to keep the broken one that is). adapter+standard socket (tiffen/pro) seems much more safer. Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted July 5, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 5, 2016 This will not hold the forces. The new machined one did not hold the forces, this one is substantially weaker.
Richard James Lewis
Do not use this.
Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted July 6, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 6, 2016 You will be better off using a borrowed vest from someone. I wouldnt trust that weld. Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
