Premium Members Mike Gailing Posted November 12, 2016 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 12, 2016 When is the bolt 1000 going to get the SDI flags sorted? I've had mine for a while and it's a constant source of frustration that it's not transmitting the record flags for remote recorders such as the pix.. Hey Justin, We're working on it! Premium Members Shawn Wang Posted November 20, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 20, 2016 unfortunately Amimon is the company to blame. every 3 -4 years they come up with a new chip bolt 300 600 2000 is based on their 2012 chip bolt 1000/3000 is based on their 2016 chip. and takes em 6-10 month to develop housing / software etc, by the time it gets its name spreaded out in the industry the new one will be on its way less than a year or two sad fact. Patrick Hogue
Re: SDI record flag... I have submitted a ticket with Teradek regarding the SDI flag not working with the Bolt 3000 in conjunction with the Alexa and the Atomos Samurai Blade recorders (as well as the tally indicator on a Flanders Scientific CM250 monitor). The Bolt 2000 passes the SDI record flag properly on these downstream devices. Since the issue was brought up with Teradek, a firmware update was released with notes indicating: Bug Fixes- Time code and record flags were not recognized by some monitors/recorders However, the firmware update did not fix the problem for us. Premium Members Justin Besser Posted November 23, 2016 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 23, 2016 Mike, Transmitting via a bolt1000 dual receiver setup (have a bolt pro as backup) Using Arri cameras (Alexa xt, mini) and Sound devices pix recorders (both 240 & e series) Have the latest firmware updates which were supposed to address these issues.. I have already had a number of issues with the 1000 which were pretty quickly resolved by your team there, but this is a key feature which is advertised and has been since I purchased it, but never worked.. Im working with the engineers on this now. We don't own any of this gear so it takes a little time for us to rent it, test it, and fix the issue. Hang in there. I encourage everyone to please email me when these flags don't work: mike@teradek.com - Its hard to keep track of these things if they're only being tweeted at us or posted in forums. Will keep you all posted on the status as soon as I hear more.

I was having some email dialogue with Chris at Teradek subsequent to submitting a support ticket but have not heard from him since mid-October. Patrick Hogue Hey Patrick, We picked up a PIX recorder and a Sony F5 yesterday so we're on our way to identifying and fixing the issues! Im hoping to get an update out before Christmas, but since everyone here will be going on vacation at varying times it might be pushed to early January. Nevertheless, I will keep you guys posted. Hopefully its an easy fix and we'll be able to push this out soon.

We'll be posting the update to our servers next week -- ill have a link listed here as soon as it goes live. If you're feeling adventurous, you can download the beta here: http://update.teradek.com/download.php?file=/Teradek/Bolt3/Firmware/2.0.x/2.0.4/Teradek_Bolt_Firmware_v2.0.4H_BETA.bin Remember, this is a BETA so there may be a couple of bugs leftover (maybe not).
