Premium Members Hervé Colosio Posted December 14, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 14, 2005 hi , does someone know the price of the battery hanger from http://www.steadyrig.com/ . i'm about to buy a new sled , and there will be a lot of work in the steadicam industry because it looks impossible to have answers from emails on that sites , steadyrig,pro-gear,optex etc ... maybe i'm too speed ! the only one that have make very quick answer is Derrick Whitehouse. thanks to him. i'm about to buy a EFP but i want to know the price for a system that can make easy the dynamic balance on that sled ? Premium Members Charles Papert Posted December 14, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 14, 2005 I'm currently working with a prototype Battery Hanger on a series and I am very pleased with it--the flexibility of configuration is very good and it is a solidly made piece of gear. Many options for dynamic balance and/or working with a variety of different batteries. Hopefully Dean or Hugo will chime in here with the particulars but I think it safe to say that the price will be between $2000-$2500 to get you started for now. Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted May 3, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 3, 2008 Hi Ramon, Here in LA I know that Charles Papert, Aiken Weiss and David Baldwin own a unit. And so far after the initial scramble to get all parts together they seem very happy with it. The issue here is that the Battery hanger was conceived to be an upgrade for the "aging" PRO 1 Chocolate bar set up were you keep the lower Junction Box and dump the cage, batteries and chargers and replace them with more contemporary battery adapters like the ones from Anton Bauer, PAG or the Sony V-mount. The name says it all, it's a battery hanger. So you have to find an old PRO-1 J-box... I heard that maybe a J-box is in the works but have no confirmation. The weight is similar to the PRO-2 but has more versatility in the battery placement... There was said a lot about the unit in the past... Erwin PS: That is Charles recent set-up. Premium Members Charles Papert Posted May 6, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 6, 2008 I have just received the prototype of the "Rig-Rest" which is a lightweight (2 oz) accessory for the Battery Hanger that returns the functionality of the PRO 1 in that you can now set it on a flat surface without the batteries touching the ground. The spacer rods similar to the PRO1 can be replaced with plates that allow for gyro, Antlers or lower dovetail plate mounting as well. I'll be posting some pix and thoughts on it shortly.
