Premium Members Marc Abernathy Posted December 17, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2005 (edited) dumb question perhaps but can you use a provid arm with a masters Sled to fly a broadcast level camera? can the provid arm take the weight? Premium Members jay kilroy Posted December 17, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2005 (edited) Marc, Not sure about that because of the weight of the actual sled. I know the weight of the camera wouldn't be an issue for the arm, but the total gross weight of everything might be an issue. Also the post of the ProVid is not compatable with the gimbal and yoke of the Master Series. That's nothing more than a little sleeve you can make for the ProVid post. jay Edited December 17, 2005 by jkilroy

Premium Members jay kilroy Posted December 18, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) Marc, It depends, there is a ProVid to Master Series conversion that is available. If it's not converted, it has the upright pin type of connection on the vest and the "link" looking piece on the arm with a hole. So you need to reseach whether or not they converted. If they haven't try to convince production to get one. The original ProVid style is really hard to find a good position for the pin to find a good balance between you and the rig. Not nearly as adjustable as the Masters type of socket block. jay Edited December 18, 2005 by jkilroy
Premium Members Marc Abernathy Posted December 18, 2005 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 18, 2005 dr. kilroy, your post just confirmed what i thought. they indeed have the conversion so im all set. i thought there were varying kinds of conversions..good to know its a universal fit to the masters. great stuff dr. j, i really would rather use their sled with my vest and leave my sled at home. thank you for your support! Premium Members Hervé Colosio Posted December 18, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 18, 2005 the master serie have a gimbal hole more larger than 3a,efp or provid arm , you may need a adaptor to fit the arm on the gimbal . you may need a double provid arm of course , not a single one . you can remove the big battery of the master and put a lithium pag,AB . or a double lithium it's less heavy than the big one provided with the master .
