Brad Smith
Can any body give me some tips on the pinouts from the "monitor" plug on a PRO configuration sled. Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted April 14, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 14, 2006 The pin outs are sled specific. Most manufacturers have taken over the PRO style connectors (Lemos) and there pin outs. But not all. The PRO style monitor connector will work on PRO, Ultimate, Sachtler and the like. Many Monitor Manufacturer have also taken over the connectors because of the popularity and intigration of the PRO system. Others still use the Steadicam style, 4 pin Hirose for the monitor. The above 4 pin connector is for video/power as for a video tap or for video transmitters, PRO style (Lemo). The Steadicam Hirose would be: Pin 1: Power Ground Pin 2: Video Ground Pin 3: Video Out/or In Pin 4: Power Cameras: Arri 12 Volt / Aaton / Video / HD are using 4 pin XLRs (wired for 12 Volt) Moviecam's are using also 4 pin XLR's but wired for 24 Volt. Arri 24 Volt like the Arricam/535/435/235/SR-3/416 are using the 2 pin Fischer. Panavison are using either the 3 pin Lemo for older Panaflex Cameras or the 2 pin Lemo for all Millenium Cameras. (24 Volt) Follow Focus Power cables as well as Run Cables again are Model/Manufacturer Specific. PRO power out to MDR is a 4 pin hermaphrodite Lemo. Steadicam power to MDR is a 2 pin Lemo. The run cable out of the BFD is a Lemo 4 pin hermaphrodite as the Cable out of the Preston is a 14pin Lemo. Standards...? Yes, but Model specific. To make it easier stick either to the PRO style or to the Steadicam style, keeps the wiring uniform and will lower the danger of blow ups if you use other peoples equipment in conjunction with yours... Good Luck, Erwin
