Tom Schnaidt
I know that that Tom at cinewidgets has the bracket for Two Bartechs for PRO, but is there a Bonafide mount for the Ultra Series that anyone uses or knows of? Thanks for any guidance here. Tom Schnaidt 917-208-5644 Tom@thirdstoryfilms.com
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted February 27, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 27, 2006 I use velcro. At first I figured I'd just use velcro until I found a bracket, but after years of mounting two Bartech's with velcro I've realized that I don't need a bracket. I've never once had a problem mounting them this way. Of course I check them periodically to make sure they're not loose, but they always seem to be secure. Premium Members Jerry Holway Posted February 27, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 27, 2006 In addition to velcro, you can use zip ties around the "nose box" and the receiver/amps to make things really secure. Jerry
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted February 28, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 28, 2006 Tom, I guess I didn't actually answer your question. I don't think a dual BFD Master bracket exists, but I could be wrong. I've never heard of one. I know that Tom Gleason has made many different types of custom brackets.....so if one doesn't already exist you may be able to figure something out with him. In the meantime, try the velcro and/or zip tie method.
Tom Schnaidt
Thanks Brad and Jerry for the input... Today I started experimenting with the vel-loc, or something like that, its the mushroom cap hard plastic (same on both sides) stuff. I put my two receivers together with that stuff and I actually cant get them apart, so Its prett stable between them, and yes, I will then attach it the same way I have been already with the velcro, and secure it with some sort of similar strapping device. I'll finish that later, I am actually pretty pleased now, but surprised that there isnt already something a little more standardized. Hmmm. thanks again,

I CANT LIVE WITH OUT IT. THE OTHER DAY I LEFT TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND WHEN I OPEN MY CASES TO PREP THE CAMERA FOR THAT JOB I REALIZED THAT THE CAMERA ASSISTANT FROM THE LAST JOB THE NIGHT BEFORE IN MIAMI, HAD NOT PUT MY DOVETAIL PLATES IN WITH ALL MY GEAR. THIS ONLY HAPPENED CAUSE I WAS DISCUSING WITH A BRITISH PRODUCER THAT HAD AGREED TO PAY ME THAT SAME NIGHT, AND HE WAS TELLING ME THAT HE WOULD MAIL A CHECK FROM ENGLAND,WICH WAS NOT THE DEAL WE HAD. SO I COMPLETELY MISS THE USUAL INVENTORY THAT I DO ON EACH WRAP. AND THERE I WAS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WITH A COMPLETE 435, A "COMPLETE" STEADICAM RIG AND TO MY SURPRISE. NO DOVETAIL PLATES. GUESS WHAT.... I DID THE ENTIRE JOB WITH THE 435 VELCROED WITH VEL-LOCK TO MY MASTERS STAGE. NO LOW-MODE THOUGH, BUT I TRIED IT UPSIDE DOWN.( WITH THE AC.S HANDS UNDERNEATH) JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY, AND THE CAMERA HELD JUST FINE. BY THE WAY THE ONLY WAY OF REMOVING THE CAMERA FROM THE STAGE WAS WITH THE ONLY TOOL I DIDNT USE THAT DAY. THE BIG FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER. 3M DESERVES AN OSCAR FOR THIS PRODUCT!
