Originally called the Hollywood Lite GT. Yup, That was my first ever rig. It s crap but for 3000 dollars it worked. I did loads of Endemol pd150 shoots with it and made enough money to buy my first proper rig. As well as shooting loads of visuals for all sorts of artists in the UK it was a fun rig and I learnt stuff off it.

It is what the price tag suggests, a very cheap stabilizer, but it works and does not break. I do not know how it compares to other rigs in it s field now, i.e. The glidecam, basson etc. But if you can afford it, buy the steadicam flyer! Infinitely better and easier to sell when you upgrade.

Check www.steadiforum.com for advice on the range of non-professional stabilizers.

i posted a topic before on a flowcam, but i in fact meant to write floatcam. ooopss

i was just wondering if there are any reviews of this out there?

i have around £2500 which i recon i could get a nice little rig for?

many thanks guy and gal....s?

peace x

Honestly this is the wrong forum. We discuss pro level rigs here, XCS, PRO-GPI, Tiffen, MK-V. I believe you would be better suited at the Steadiforums.com than here

I don't know Job,

I have never used the glidecam gold, however I am aware that it is a very useable rig. Whilst not the choice of many on this forum it can be taken on pro jobs.

But this is irrelevant Job, it s you that is posting not your rig, and you have a very large body of very proffesional work that I and many others on this forum respect from a person that goes out every day/other day operating for money, in as much as this you are a very qualified proffesional operator and that is what this forum is for.

Erics point is aimed at the bread of much cheaper rigs out there that are not taken out on a very regular basis with the aim of charging clients cash.

I think the present situation between the forums is great. The same old questions can be discussed at lengh on steadiforum without irritating the 10years+ operators on this forum that want to discuss the merits of various high end rigs.

Point taken Thomas,

I am just saying its difficult to say what rig is pro and what rig isn't. Flyer, is that pro? Its for smaller cheaper cameras. Etc etc. Thats why the Steadi Newbie section is here. But, if a newbie ask a question, we tell them to bugger off. ( if he asks about an cheap version )

Better would be to tell him that we dont know rigs like that and ask him what he wants to do in the future. Perhaps we should advice him a flyer or V25. I know we operate long times here on the forum. But we started too some day. I am very happy that the operators i spoke back than where not Elite, and where always willing to help out. One day, the cheap rig operator will get a better rig, and grow and grow.

My 2 cents
