Back mount vest - screw bend

Recommended Posts

Anyone has a good screw solution for bend fixing thumb screw? My lower screw to fix the spring arm is always bending after a certain period of time. Thanks.

Hey Thomas,

Thanks for your reply. By the way, your bushing adapters are so nice, I hardly want to use them so that they don't get scratches :-)) .

And yes, it's the lower thumb screw. The last screw I had to take out was heavily bend so that I teared off the head while trying to unscrew.

I don't know, maybe if I would find a tube with the suitable thread which I could use as a kind of bend protection'??

Hi Jens,

is your carbon arm connected to the harness 90° ?
Walter Klassen makes a crossover block that orients the arm a bit down. That results in having the male and the female socketblock more parallel and the lower screw (which bends) can be shorter so it won´t bent.

Thanks Matthias, good idea. Unfortunately I already have a special cross over block because my vest arm was build a little different. I have to check the degree of my cross over block..

Jens, Thanks for feedback on the bushings. Glad to hear you like them.

It sounds like you are already on to a good solution for the bending thumb screws by checking the angle of the carbon arm. Great call Matthias.

Let us know what you find out.
