Got it down to these 2 monitors, unsure about which one

Hello.

 

Investing in a monitor and wireless video system. Since I can't afford a $4,000 monitor yet, I'll buy something that cheap, but usable.

 

Don' want to buy somethng that's expensvive but not great. Rather buy cheap that works, and save money so I can invest in the best monitor later.

 

The monitor will be used by directors. Will be used with most SD and HD video. Some 16mm, no 35mm.

 

The director needs a fairly good image, but not perfect.

Hey Lars,

 

I'd go with the Xenarc, excellent monitor for the price. However, you will need to power it with batteries, so that will be an extra cost to design/build. The tote has internal AA's which is a nice thing, but the monitor's specs don't even come close to that of the Xenarcs.

 

I know a lot of people that use the Xenarc's in car navigation systems because of the high res and decent brightness - and touchscreen, which we don't need.

thank you for your reply. I actually ended up buying a PANASONIC TC-7WMS1 7" widescreen monitor. Got a good price on it. A bit more expensive, but in the end, worth it.
