Premium Members Steve Fracol SOC Posted September 29, 2018 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 29, 2018 Introducing to the marketplace: “Fauxlex” INTRODUCTORY PRICE, 20% OFF (for a limited time) LIST PRICES 1,000.00 (Not personalized) -20% = $800.00 (for a limited time) 1,200.00 (Personalized with your name on the Fauxlex) -20% = $960.00 (for a limited time) Available in textured BLACK or RED. The Fauxlex is made as a mirrorless or full size DSLR camera “carrier” that doubles as a Steadicam practice unit. Originally, this was built as a “carrier” to make shooting on set with mirrorless cameras and DSLR’s (like the most popular we typically use, Sony A7 or 6500 series, Fuji X-H1 or Fuji X-T2, X-T3, Canon 7D, 5D, Nikon D800, etc.), easier to do hand-held and use on Steadicam. Obviously it can also be used as a practice weight for Steadicam operators as well. It is a great addition to every kit. THE DETAILS This design comes from four prototypes that were built and tested. The radius cut out on the front half allows easy access to menu systems on the camera and rear monitor. An Arri style M6 Rosette was added to the right side for accessories like a hand grip to be added for hand-held work. Also added were a 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 threads to the top for easy monitor placement. It comes with a battery plate adapter that can take AB or V mount plates. It is sold with AB style plate with bare wires and Dtap for powering your particular camera and accessories (you choose how to set that up). SIZE & WEIGHT Dimensionally, it was made to mock the approximate size of most full size cameras ranging from the Arri Alexa, Alexa Plus, XT, Panasonic Varicam, Sony Venice/F55, etc. With the rear portion removed you can move the battery plate to the front half. Then it mocks the approximate size of an Alexa Mini and many Red camera bodies as well as the Panavision DXL. Full size it weighs approximately 16.5 lbs without camera or battery. With an average camera and accessories it weighs in at approximately 22 to 24 lbs. Weights can be added easily to the inside of the unit to get to whatever weight you want to shoot or practice at that best matches your normal camera weight range. The front portion is approximately 8.5lbs without camera or battery. With an average camera and accessories it weighs in at approximately 14 to 16lbs. *With the Dtap and bare wires from the battery plate you can power your accessories and wire your rig with a power converter box to match the power source you need for your particular camera, Sony, Fuji, Canon, Nikon, etc. NOTE: The Fauxlex is sold with a rosette installed on the right of the unit but not sold with the hand grip as shown in the photos. This is shown only as an example. Call, Text or email to order. Steve Fracol 323-301-6790 steve@fracol.com
