Premium Members Jeff Muhlstock SOC Posted March 21, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 21, 2006 Very nice work. May I suggest you add tally lights on your transmitter side as well. Most of us pull off the viewfinder of video cameras, thus loosing a front tally for talent. respectfully, Jeff
Premium Members charlesneufeld Posted March 21, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 21, 2006 Hey Jeff, Thanks for the comments! I'll open it up and see what I can do. Should be simple to do. Just when you think it's finished... ;) Charles

Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted April 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 11, 2006 Hi all Just received and tested mine. NICE! Simple design, compact, runs on a 9 volt ...and wireless. item was delivered on time as promised, no hassle . Here is the reason I bought one: I was flying a Sony 900 with Pro-35 adapter. The Pro-35 was taking it's power from the Sony camera, directly from the lens connector (the one we use to On/Off the camera with our remote focus systems). As you guessed, the on/off cable was not used because of this configuration and we forgot about it; there is one shot that was NEVER recorded because we used the On/off from the remote instead off starting the camera manually... That thing would have saved me a call from the producer nobody wants to answer. My 29,900 cents + shipping. Fly safe, with the lights on
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted May 16, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 16, 2006 Hey Charles I just recieved mine, and boy, its really a great piece of gear. Just did some testing and it works like a dream. No more hassle with wires, nice power from the sled. I'm loving it. Thx again. Premium Members Bryan Trieb Posted May 16, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 16, 2006 Hey Guys, I'm now on my 2nd unit from Charles and I'm still having "drop out" issues. Sometimes the unit is solid, sometimes not.....have any of you guys had this experience of the receiver blinking or dropping out while the tally should be solid? I'm using a Master Elite sled and powering the Xtally with cables from my sled. I really love this unit but just can't seem to get it happening solid all the time. Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!
Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted May 20, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 20, 2006 Hi Bryan, I have had the same hickups from receiver but managed to now have a strong and solid signal 90% of the time by re-positioning the 2 units. A very good thing is the tally on the transmitter, I put that one also in sight so I have both lights in my view. Hope that helps. Premium Members Guido Lux Posted May 21, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 Hi Charles! I've been testing mine for a while and I just love it!!Works like a charm!! I only have one little problem...one word: LASERPOINTER!!! The LEDs on the upper tallybox are actually a little too bright (fixed it with a piece of diffusion)!! When you come a little to close to the talent they get this red GLOW...! Maybe an idea for the next ones you make(or my second one!!) Guido "red glow" Lux
Premium Members charlesneufeld Posted May 21, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 HAHAHA, ya Guido, I was concerned about the brightness, but I figured with the 60,000mcd LED's no one would complain about not seeing them! I use some gaff tape to cover half of the LED's off sometimes....hmmm perhaps a dimmer pot next round! haha I also have different colours now! white, green, yellow, blue and red! ALAN DRAKE
Hi Charles Could your wireless tally be tweaked to increase the distance? I am looking for a tally to accompany a wireless video camera over a distance of up to 500meters. Cheers Alan
Premium Members Martin Stacey Posted November 26, 2011 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 26, 2011 Does anyone know if Charles still makes these? If not does anyone know of a viable alternative? Cheers, Marty
