Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted October 8, 2018 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hi folks has Atomos closed down? Been trying to get my samurai blade 5.2 serviced and I've emailed 3 different people and not one has replied to any of my requests for service information. Been trying for about 2 months now but work has kept me pretty busy so I haven't pressed on but maybe there's a representative on this forum that wants to answer my question about where to send it for repair. I know you can't normally just send something in without an RA number. Just not sure if the company went bankrupt or out of business? They seem to still be selling items. Does anyone know a direct phone number where I can call someone for some help on getting my samurai serviced.
Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted October 8, 2018 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted October 8, 2018 Pamela Berry was my 1st contact, got an automatic email telling me she was no longer with the company to send my inquiry to Rodger or Travis and I send an email to both of them still nothing. Premium Members Jason Tseng Posted October 8, 2018 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 8, 2018 Have you requested a support ticket? Unless somethings changed recently, filling out the online form has always worked for me. Last time I used Atomos support was about 3-4 months ago.https://support.atomos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted December 17, 2018 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 17, 2018 Got a hold of them. Thank you Jason for the support ticket suggestion. They were quite nice once I finally got a hold of someone. Shipped my unit to them, and after 2 weeks they deemed it un repairable because of the modification I had Media Blackout make to it years ago. Mine was the first to get the 2 pin connector added to the side so I would just plug it in to the lower electronics of the Cine Live. But they gave me a great Out of warranty replacement cost for a new unit. and of course I will "upgrade" the new unit again with the same modification since it's the only way I want to use it. Really love the unit and the form factor and size of the Samurai Blade. Just figured I'd update the post.
