Sachtler Artemis dealer in the U.S.?

I'm a camera assistant interested getting into Steadicam. I am taking the SOA workshop this spring and I am currently researching my various options in gear. I have been looking on the Sachtler website and am interested in the price of the Artemis Rig although I can't seem to get any information out of Sachtler. I am trying to avoid calling Sachtler in Germany, does anyone know of any sources of information in the States?

Thanks,

Denny

Hey Denny, I have a loaded EFP that was my primary rig for 15 years. I now own all new stuff, and I am looking to either rent or sell my older equipment. My rig consists of :

Modified EFP with fore/aft AB battery / 4 Hytron 100s

2 battery / set up for 24 volt operation

PRO gimbal

PRO D-Box 2

EFP Arm

Master Vest or EFP Vest

return video and tally system for multi camera

lots more.....

I would love to find a new operator that I feel comfortable enough to send on jobs with this gear. Someone wo isnt ready to buy, but wants to work.

Give me a call if interested.

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Bandpro (818-841-9655, my contact there is David Jones) here in LA used to rep them, give it a try.

Also look at all the rigs available before settling on one, I'm also sure that once you've done your workshop you will have a different/new look at the equipment question...

(Also check my links on www.landaucamera.com)

Welcome to the familly,

Fly Safe,

Erwin

hi Denny,

Last I know, you have to go thru Germany to get a Artemis rig. email Curt Shaller : curt@sachtler-hd.com

He is the one that will get you the prices and all the specs (he's also an operator, so he knows his stuff).

I am located in Montreal and got my Artemis Cine-HD from Germany. At the time, I hesitated between a PRO and Sachtler, and it came down to money, my canadian money was worth more in Euro than Us dollar. Now it is the exact opposite, so would I do it again? I would probably go for PRO now but I don't regret one second having bought a Sachtler. I have had it for almost 4 years now and it serves me well. At the time, I was saving about 20% over same PRO package (sled , arm, vest).

If you ever come to Montreal , please let me know, we can arrange something so you can see it all. Maybe the Formula One weekend? (june) or Madonna concert? (june also)

And at the SOA workshop, you will probably try out different rigs so take notes and try them all if you can, you will be busy for the next couple of months, enjoy.

Cheers. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I definately have not settled on any equipment, what I am trying to do right now is price out my options. I am lucky enough to be able to work everyday with many of the top operators and check out of their rigs (although I have yet to see the Sachtler Artemis), it helps to have a bearing on what everything costs and who is selling it in the U.S.
