Vibrations topstage

Hi all,

so I recently did this videoclip, and I'm having a wicked amount of vibrations in my topstage (Masters Series), especially in low mode. I've had this before, but never this much. Are there any tips out there, is there something loose, stuff like that? It was a Alexa Mini, with Lomo's, but the DP did have a Beachtek Sound module on it.

Thanks!

Sander

Hi Sander

This is something that can happen with a Master stage and usually a lighter camera in low mode. Best option is to get the stage serviced, from my days at Optex with these we used to say every year. As an emergency fix try jamming wedges between the dovetail plate and the nosebox or top of the stage. Cinema Products used to make little screw in clamps to overcome the problem. Also make sure you clamp the dovetail down really hard when the fled is upright (so the camera weight is acting downwards).

Hi Robin,

thanks for the quick response! Do you have any idea where I can get it serviced? I'm located in Belgium, so maybe OS is nearest?

And I'm going to check that out! Also saw the clamp from Ratworks, have to give it a shot.

Thanks!

I know Adam Mendry had one or two ... i contacted him, but he doesnt have it anymore.
Maybe we can find someone, who is willing to craft some for us.

Checking it out! Thank you!

with the alexa mini the battery mount can cause vibration issues. I use this little bracket to stabilize the battery. It also lets you mount the viewfinder behind the handle.
