Premium Members Justin Theodore Posted February 19, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2020 I'm looking for some lighter weight pelicases or flight cases for my gear. I have a Tiffen Shadow-V and G70x and the Steadicam cases they originally came in are the classic Tiffen cases and are too big and clunky for day to day use and I need a better solution. I can't find a decent size on the Peli site. Can anyone recommend from experience. Rough requirements for a sled case would be 800mmx400mmx250mm. I'm London based. Thanks. Randy Gomez
Pelican 1650 should be more than enough and also the Pelican Air 1615 which is much lighter but not as rigid as the 1650. For travel I’d stick with the original Tiffen case or 1650.
Premium Members Corey Hess Posted February 21, 2020 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 21, 2020 I have a Pelican 1650 for my Archer 2 which is pretty much the same size as the Shadow. It's the perfect size for the rig plus some small accessories. I don't have to disassemble the sled each time I pack it up and it's significantly thinner than the Tiffen case, but still rigid enough that I feel comfortable traveling with it.
