Premium Members Lars Erik Posted May 15, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 Hello everyone, did a search, but didn't find anything on silicon spray. My Ultra vest is making a little bit of squeeking noise from time to time. I know about W-40 and that must not be used. Jerry told me to use a silicon spray on the Masters re-union. But with everything going on there I forgot to ask if there's is any cans I should stay away from? Hope someone has any tips, as the sound guys keep giving me the evil eye. Premium Members Jason Torbitt Posted May 15, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 Hi Lars, This is the gear you're looking for... Go to Maplin Electronics and search for 'Silicone Grease / PTFE'. Product code N71AN, it's the weapon of choice. Silicone spray keeps the sound department happy! Cheers Jason
Premium Members Jamie Hammond Posted May 15, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 Hi Lars, Both my Ultra vest and my Action products back mounted vests were squeeking like a bugger the other week. Soundy was going off his head. Managed to get through but tightening and loosening nuts on the vest just made it worse. Got home that night and completly stripped both vests down. Just the smallest amounts of dust had worked its way in the joints and behind screws. Cleaned it out, good as new no squeek no nothing. I think a bi-monthly clean of my vests will be become a standard. Oh yeah Maplin spray......good. BTW: That job in Cambridge, that prodution team suck the big one. You did well getting out of it. Anyway take it easy J
