Westwood Village is very close as well as the UCLA campus. In Westwood there are a bunch of restaurants, if you can stand being that close to drunk students. Unfortunately Colin Hudson's hang out (Schlotzky's) closed the doors for good. Also across the street from the Wadsworth on Wilshire Blvd. are again a couple of places including a Billard place...

No idea what's good... been a while since I hung out at UCLA.

See you there...

Less than a mile away is a billiards/sports bar named "Q's". There are fewer students than some of the Westwood (UCLA) bars. There is a good mix of people in their 20's-30's plus some our age. it is really quite large so we could find our own little nook.

Q's: 11835 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles. Ca 90025 (310-477-7550)

Q's sounds good. Or what about that place we had a guild meeting at a few years ago? It was on Pico I believe, and near Colin's house if my memory is correct. Anyone remember the name? It had a blue sign and I remember the first time I saw the M-One motor was there.

My memory is going.....getting old I guess.

I completely forgot abou this..

What about Gladstones? I believe it's on PCH and Sunset. They have a room that can be reserved just for us.. Michael Stumpf's wife is one the bosses I believe, so we shouldn't have any problems getting in.

Plus it's near the ocean.

Thoughts? Conecerns?

David,

Yes if you guys want to make the few extra mile drive up to Gladstone's

I can always reserve the "movie room" as it's called in the back.

We'd get free appetizers and probably non alcoholic drinks.

It would be a nice romantic place for all us men to hang out and

watch the sunset!! AND, we could all go for a walk on the beach afterward...

maybe even all hold hands. :D That would be SWEET...NOT.

Anyway, if that's where everybody wants to go, I could make it happen

as David pointed out, my wife is the #2 there.

I know where Brad was talking about (yes Brad I also believe it was on Pico, or maybe Olympic.

It was on the south side of the street. Had indoor and outdoor seating.

It's where the M-One motor was first brought and we also watch the "thank you" video

that was compiled for Garrett. I think it was in 2002. That was a cool place.

Q's is also good, we can play pool.

I think we should place a poll on here of 4 or 5 places on the West Side and

let people vote.

I'll be in Hawaii next week and doubtful will be on the computer, so if the poll closes before

May 28th count me in for wherever.

Later all.

The above metioned bar where the M-One debuted was the Arsenal at 12012 Pico Blvd. in West LA, about 2.5 miles from the show. The famous Gladstones is about 7 mi. away right on the ocean.

So, it appears to be a choice between Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now.

Hi guys,

Yes, I remember the "M-One" bar... yes, that is closer.. the only concern I have is..... drumroll please..

is there going to be enough room to accomadate everyone that shows up? This is Cincegear where LOTS of ops from out of town show up too. I remember it being a little cramped with the few ops that were there last time.

Thoughts?

Gladstones: the GRUNION are Running Sunday night. THink of the fun we could all have.......

But seriously Both Q's and Gladstones are good calls, the question is do we want to meet a few blocks from the expo or have a Twenty minute drive? The out of towners should make the call on this one.

P.S. We are the only industry in the industrialized nation FIGHTING for 14 hour work days..........

Ah, Arsenal! Thank you Jim. I knew I could count on you to remember a bar.

It will be hard for some of the folks from out of town to get to somewhere like Gladstones. Although a romantic walk on the beach with Michael is something I've been looking forward to for a long time.

Arsenal wasn't that small as I remember it. We had quite a few people there that night, and Anthony Hardwick even had his sled set up outside.

A couple other options are Sonny McLean's, which is on Wilshire @ 26th (2 miles from Cinegear), or Irish Times which is on Motor near the Fox lot (3.5 miles from Cinegear). You can tell I like my Guinness.....

Sonny McLean's is pretty large, with pool tables, dart boards, and a good jukebox. Irish Times is a bit smaller, with pool tables, and probably not as crowded as Sonny's.

I think the poll idea is a good one. I'm in for wherever we go, but I think it would be easiest for everyone involved if we don't go somewhere too far from Cinegear.
