Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted May 19, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 I would go with something very close to Cinegear as we always loose a bunch of people on the change over... If it would be in walking distance, the out of towner's and locals could leave the car in the parking lot and just walk in a convoy over to the place... Also no problem of getting locked out/in after 3am... if I remember right... Just my 2 cents... Premium Members Michael Stumpf Posted May 20, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 20, 2006 One other thing to keep in mind, the out of towners might WANT to drive somewhere else and going to the ocean might be a plus for them too. My wife can always 100% comp (meaning free) food for my friends when it's just a couple of us, but since it would be such a large group obviously that would not fly. But as I mentioned she could most certainly comp a bunch of appetizers (calamari and such) as well as the non alcholic drinks. Lastly, she would certainly throw in free dessert too. The movie room holds about 50 people (40ish is a bit more comfortable). The tables can be set up in a "U" shape so we can all talk easily and gaze into each others eyes. :P :D I could bring Mapquest directions to Cinegear for the out of towners. Again, David, post up a poll and let it rip. Give it a week or so and then we go from there.
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted May 20, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 20, 2006 Gladstones works for me. I really don't want to stay in the westwood area on a saturday night, near a college...
Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted May 21, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 Let's just plan on Galdstones.. Something else to think about.. we steadicam operators are not the only ones that attend cinegear and the nearby bars and restaurants will probably be overcrowed with other Cinegear folk...along with drunk loud college students.. Unless there is an overwhelming response otherwise, lets just keep it simple and plan on Gladstones. What say ye?
Premium Members Dan Coplan Posted May 21, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2006 I'm down with Gladstone's. Someone mentioned a poll. With all the back and forth regarding where these get-togethers should take place, the dialogue gets very confusing. I'm not familiar enough with the area, but how about someone take the responsibility for making a list of x number of possible choices (no more than 3 or 4) and posting in a poll-type fashion. Each person respond and increase the number of your choice by one. That oughta simplify things. David, Eric, Michael, and I have officially cast our vote for Gladstone's, so how about: Gladstone's - 4 Option 2 - 0 Option 3 - 0 Option 4 - 0 Dan

jasondittmer
Although I never posted. gladstones I thought I should gladstones weigh in on the whole Gladstones/ other watering hole debate gladstones. Truth is I gladstones don't really caregladstones. Sitting around on the gladstones water, waxing and waning with gladstones good friends as the dolphins surface out in front of gladstones. Sipping on good beergladstones and sweet coconut gladstones shrimp sounds nice. But honestly gladstones. I'll do whatever. Gladstones or some other place gladstones. Count me in.
